Last week I did another Quest Bars Review on the Strawberry Cheesecake Flavor. You could tell by my review, I wasn't too impressed.  After consulting with my Facebook and Instagram (@nobunplease) followers, I knew that the next Quest Bar that I tried just had to be the Apple Pie flavor!  With fall coming, I was definitely in the market for something spicy and sweet!

    Quest Bars Review Specifications

Much like the previous Quest Bars review, the Apple Pie flavor came very delightfully wrapped in a candy apple red and orange wrapper, perfect for the beginning of the fall season!

This bar uses two different sweeteners: Lo Han Guo and Sucralose.

Nutritionally, each bar has: 170 calories, 5 grams of fat, 24 grams of carbohydrates, 6 NET carbohydrates, 3 grams of sugar, 20 grams of protein and 18 grams of fiber.

Ingredients: Protein Blend (Whey Protein Isolate, Milk Protein Isolate), Isomalto-Oligosaccharide* (100% Natural Prebiotic Fiber), Almonds, Water, Apples, Natural Flavors, Sea Salt, Cinnamon, Lo Han Guo, Sucralose.

    Scent

After I opened this Apple Pie Quest Bar, I was immediately taken by a subtle, spicy scent of cinnamon. It wasn't overbearing by any means, just enough to keep my nose interesting and wanting more!  There was also a very light apple scent that was fresh and natural smelling.  I, for one, hate the smell of synthetic apple flavoring, so this was a very pleasant surprise!

    Taste

Oh. Em. Gee. This bar is fantastic! I took one bite and my taste buds went wild! It really does taste like homemade apple pie.  There's a sweetness to the bar that interacted really well with the amount of cinnamon.  There wasn't too much spice or sweetness, it was perfect!

As suggested by some of my followers, I decided to plop this one in the microwave. OH. EM. GEE. This legitimately tastes like a warm apple pie. How on earth can something so delicious be so nutritious for me?!  I happily gobbled this "dessert" up and even topped it with a little bit of whipped cream. Heaven.

    Texture

Much like the previous bar, the texture was very nice.  It wasn't gritty at all, very smooth and had the consistency of a chewy caramel candy.  This bar also had just enough tiny chunks of apple to provide an awesome crunch. Very pleased with the "mouth feel" of this bar!

    Verdict

I'm sold. This bar is de-lic-ious!  I will definitely be purchasing this one again!  After this Quest Bars review, it's been decided. I am definitely going to have to microwave each one now!

I would give this bar a 10 for taste and texture alone. It's so delicious - especially for a protein bar.  My only concern and "fault" would be the net carb count.  At 6 net carbs, this bar might be a little too high in carbs for extremely low carb diets (keto diet, included).  I will say, however, that since apples are pretty much non-existent in my diet, this is a really great dessert/fruit flavor to enjoy at 6 carbs. I would definitely account for it in my daily macros.

    ~ Final Rating: 9/10 ~
